During July we accompanied very important milestones in two Nature Based Solutions (NBS) projects: Rolón Cué (ID 4243) and Villa Zenaida (ID 5402), developed by Aike NBS and Vista Energy. Both are carried out under Verra’s international standards VCS (Verified Carbon Standard) and CCB (Climate, Community and Biodiversity).
At ProSustentia we assist technically in these projects in their validation and verification processes, and during July we were present at the audit conducted by AENOR, a key body that guarantees that the reported climate, social and biodiversity benefits are real and verifiable.
The audit process
The audit took place in Gobernador Virasoro, Corrientes, over fivedays. Different activities were carried out there:
- Social interviews with local authorities, educational institutions, neighbors, NGOs and workers’ representatives.
- Field visits to High Conservation Value Areas (grasslands, wetlands and native forests), home to species such as the Aguará Guazú, Marsh Deer, Carayá Monkey and White-breasted Capuchin.
- Remediation of plots to confirm CO₂ sequestration in afforestation (ARR) and forest management (IFM) projects.
- Biodiversity monitoring with camera traps, in conjunction with Fundación Aike Biodiversidad and specialist Ernesto Krauczuk.
Our role
We accompany each stage to ensure that projects meet the highest international standards and generate a positive and tangible impact on climate, communities and biodiversity.
A commitment that continues
This work in Corrientes reaffirms our commitment to support initiatives that build a more sustainable future for all.
