On September 12, the Pewma Project’s Participatory Workshop—organized by 360 Conservación Patagonia with technical support from ProSustentia—was held at School No. 783 in Río Pico, Chubut.
The event was attended by residents of Río Pico, along with members of the technical and field teams from 360 Conservación Patagonia and Camila Rastelli, representing ProSustentia.
During the meeting, the project’s objectives were presented, along with its reforestation and native forest restoration activities, the studies conducted on biodiversity and the local community, and the actions taken since its inception in April 2025. The certification process under Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) standards was also explained.
During the workshop, participants worked in groups to analyze and prioritize proposals related to fire prevention and control, training in forestry trades, environmental education, and collaboration with scientific and technological institutions. The session provided an opportunity to gather input on the proposed actions, the challenges involved in implementing them, and the ways in which the community and local institutions could get involved.
The event took place one day after the project completed its validation process under the VCS standard and began the registration phase with VERRA. This progress represents an important milestone on the path toward joint VCS and CCB certification.
At ProSustentia, we are supporting 360 Conservación Patagonia through the certification process and in preparing for this participatory event. The workshop’s contributions will be incorporated into the Social Plan and the project documentation in accordance with the CCB standard.
