On May 28 and 29, 2024, the 5th International Forum on Sustainable Development organized by ICONTEC, Colombia’s standardization body, was held. The theme for this year was “NET ZERO: Actions towards a just transition to face the current challenges of sustainability.” The event aimed to provide models and good practices of sustainable business management supported by mitigation, adaptation, and financing strategies that promote comprehensive climate change management within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event gathered business leaders and climate change managers, consultants, teachers and business advisors, public officials, and professionals interested in learning and applying new management approaches to climate change. ProSustentia participated as speaker in the panel “Supply Management to Achieve Decarbonization: Adaptation and Mitigation Strategies for Climate Change,” where our specialist in decarbonization strategies, Nadia Mazzeo, discussed the connection between the new circular economy standards published by ISO and the management challenges towards net zero.
The event measured its carbon footprint and offset its emissions. The estimated footprint was 84.16 kgCO2e/person which, according to ICONTEC’s estimates, was 12 kgCO2e/person less than previous forums. The emissions were offset through the Kaliawiri Redd + Biofix forestry project.
We are glad to continue expanding our network in the region and contribute to more sustainable development.
