🌱 At ProSustentia we accompany 360 Conservation Patagonia in an important milestone for their forest restoration project in Patagonia, Argentina: the completion of the Public Consultation as an initial step towards certification under the Verra VCS Standard. This event brought together more than 50 participants in both on-site and virtual modalities, demonstrating the interest of the local community in initiatives that combine conservation, ecological regeneration and climate action.
🌳 The main objective of the project is to mitigate climate change through afforestation, reforestation and restoration of degraded areas within a clustered area in the extra-Andean Patagonia of the Province of Chubut. The first intervention (on the “Las Vertientes” ranch) covers 779 hectares and includes plantations of adapted species, management of native renewable forests and the creation of firebreak areas to protect biodiversity.
💧 In addition to the benefits in carbon sequestration, the project seeks soil recovery, habitat restoration and biological connectivity, while generating local employment, promoting environmental education and strengthening community resilience in the face of climate change.
🌎 ProSustentia is proud to advise 360 Conservation Patagonia in this challenge that connects science, environmental commitment and work in the territory. We welcome this move towards a more sustainable future!
