BDU forestry projects

Since 2011, AF has been developing and operating 4 financial trusts for forest investment, known as “Bosques del Uruguay” (BDU I, II, III, and IV), managing a total area of 70,000 hectares. The central objective of BDU projects is to sustainably develop pine and eucalyptus plantations to produce high quality timber for sawmilling, pulp, and energy in the Uruguayan and international markets.

These projects promote a sustainable forest management with carbon capture certification under the VCS and CCB (under certification) standard.

ProSustentia advises AF on the climate management of its projects and initiatives. In connection with the BDU projects, ProSustentia is responsible for project document development, validation, registration, monitoring, verification, issuance, and carbon credit marketing in the market.
