During the week of October 27, 2025, Miguel D’Ambrosio ——Biodiversity Analyst and CCB Certification Lead at ProSustentia—will support the verification of the Bosques del Uruguay II and Bosques del Uruguay III forestry trusts for their projects registered with Verra under the VCS + CCB standards: Bosques del Uruguay II (ID 2411) and Forteko (ID 962), respectively.

Both projects have already been verified. This monitoring campaign covers carbon sequestration and biodiversity and community co-benefits for the 2021–2024 period. The audit will be conducted by the certification body ICONTEC (Colombia), with two auditors carrying out on-site visits to properties in northeastern Uruguay (mainly in Cerro Largo and Treinta y Tres).

What is verified?

  • Climate (VCS): greenhouse gases reduction/remotions cuantification using the applicable methodology, inventory data and trazability during monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV).
  • Community and Biodiversity (CCB): social and environmental safeguards, beneffits for local stakehoderls, conservation and/or habitats and species restoration.
  • Management and compliance: consistency of documentation, implementation of management plans, and field evidence.

ProSustentia’s role:

Since the projects’ registration with Verra, ProSustentia has provided:

  • Design and implementation of MRV (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification),
  • Technical support throughout validation and verification processes,
  • Organizational GHG inventories and continuous enhancement of climate management systems,
  • Commercial/market engagement support for issued carbon credits.

We are proud that the project proponents AgroEmpresa Forestal and EFAM continue to trust our team to integrate conservation, production, and climate action into large-scale projects.

Next steps

Upon completion of the field visit and document review, ICONTEC will issue its findings in accordance with Verra’s verification process.
Once the audit is closed.
