The opportunity to tour a facility, learn about its operations, and analyze how a certification project is carried out helps future professionals gain a better understanding of the specific challenges involved in its implementation.<\/p>\n<p>With that goal in mind, ProSustentia participated in a field trip organized by the elective course <strong>\u201cSilvopastoral Management Workshop\u201d<\/strong> offered by the Faculty of Agronomy at the University of Buenos Aires (FAUBA), held at <strong>Estancia La Negra<\/strong>, where the forestry project is being carried out <a href=\"https:\/\/registry.verra.org\/verra\/public\/program\/VCS\/projects\/5176\"><strong>VCS Project ID 5176<\/strong><\/a>, which is currently undergoing certification under Verra\u2019s <strong>Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, we shared with students in the <strong>Bachelor\u2019s<\/strong> programs <strong>in Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, and Agricultural Economics<\/strong> an introduction to how carbon markets work, the role of <strong>Nature-based Solutions (NbS),<\/strong> and the main stages of a carbon project, from its design to the certification of greenhouse gas removals. The visit also provided an opportunity to tour the facility and gain firsthand knowledge of the characteristics of the silvopastoral system, the management practices in place, and some of the technical aspects considered during the project\u2019s development and monitoring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Linking Academia with Practice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The growing demand for professionals specializing in climate change, carbon markets, and sustainable natural resource management highlights the need to create opportunities for exchange between academic training and professional practice.
