Forestal Sylvis and AF Madera are developing ARR projects that seek to remove carbon from the atmosphere through capture in woody biomass, initially in the Loma Linda field, Caazap\u00e1, Paraguay. Although the proponents are carrying out two separate projects, they are doing so in a collaborative way. The aim is to generate a synergy that enhances their capabilities, backgrounds and experiences. This is a grouped project, which will gradually incorporate other fields in the Eastern Region of Paraguay. In this way, the carbon capture potential of the project will be applied.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of these projects and in order to comply with one of the steps of the VCS and CCB certification process, Forestal Sylvis and AF Madera, with the support of ProSustentia, held a stakeholder consultation on June 15 in the Loma Linda field in the Dr. Mois\u00e9s Bertoni district, Department of Caazap\u00e1, Paraguay. The purpose of this consultation was to ensure that the stakeholders potentially affected by the projects were aware of and understood the projects. Within this framework, they were given a space to express their opinions, complaints, concerns and suggestions, as well as to strengthen ties with the companies.<\/p>\n

The consultation was attended by more than 190 people, including members of the local community, educational, religious and health institutions, private institutions, non-governmental organizations and government agencies. ProSustentia explained the certification process of the VCS and CCB standards, the functioning of the Carbon Market and the objectives of the project in relation to obtaining Carbon Credits.<\/p>\n

ProSustentia will be in charge of carrying out the certification process<\/a> according to the aforementioned standards. This includes the stages of project description, validation and verification, accompanying up to the issuance of carbon credits.<\/p>\n

In this way, the projects of Forestal Sylvis and AF Madera move one step closer to the VCS-CCB certification.<\/p>\n
