The Director of ProSustentia, Federico Moyano,<\/a> was one of the distinguished panelists at a nationally significant event that brought together various stakeholders in the carbon market. Argentina Carbon Forum<\/a> took place on June 27th and 28th at the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange headquarters. The event gathered a large audience interested in this topic.<\/p>\n

Federico served as a speaker on the panel titled “The Path to Decarbonization: the Potential for Emission Reduction in Argentina,” with a special focus on the agroforestry sector. During his presentation, he emphasized that among all sectors of the economy, the agroforestry sector has the greatest potential for decarbonization projects in our country, due to its ability to capture and store carbon.<\/p>\n

The panel<\/a> featured other prominent experts in different areas. Sebasti\u00e1n Vangeli from Ecosecurities addressed the same topic but focused on management practices. Marcelo Rosso from the Association for the Study of Solid Waste (ARS) discussed the possibilities of reducing emissions through waste management in cities. Similarly, Pablo Kohan from Emisiones Neutras highlighted the importance of generating biogas from waste. Additionally, the panel included Hern\u00e1n Juri from Industrias Juan F. Secco, and Alejandro Rueda, a representative from Enelx.<\/p>\n

The latest report<\/a> from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of the United Nations is conclusive: “Climate Change is already affecting all regions of the Earth in multiple ways. Any increase in warming will exacerbate the changes we are experiencing.” Decarbonization becomes an essential process to stabilize the climate, either through emission reduction or carbon capture. We celebrate these type of gatherings in the region that foster debates from various sectors in search for solutions.<\/p>\n
